YOU’RE INVITED TO OUR
Wassail Event!
Join us Saturday, March 7 for a traditional Wassail celebration to toast the trees, chase away winter spirits, and ensure a fruitful harvest!
The Wassail, or blessing of the fruit trees, is an ancient custom that involves drinking and singing to the health of the trees in the hope that they will provide a bountiful harvest come autumn. The toast waes hael, means “be well” or “be in good health.”
We will open at noon and feature two Wassail orchard marches, at 2 p.m. and again at 6 p.m. as night falls. Join us for Wassail pole making, traditional Morris dancing, and enjoy tarot card readings alongside fiber fun with Theresa from GetBEntz Farm and Sara from Muse Fiber. Cozy up by the roaring fires while savoring our toasties and soup, along with a variety of warm and cold beverages. Indoor seating will be available for your comfort. The Cidery will remain open until 8 p.m. (or later!).
Join us for this FREE community event suitable for all ages! This year in particular, the Wassail promises to be a great way to bid farewell to negativity and invigorate our orchards and spirits with cheers, singing, general noise-making, and dancing. We all can benefit from a time of releasing what’s weighing us down and celebrating the goodness that surrounds us. It’s a powerful experience for everyone and the orchard alike.
