It’s returning! The 4th Annual HerbFest at Keepsake Cidery is set for Sunday, July 13, 2025, and admission is free. The festival will showcase local vendors who grow and produce herbs and herb-related products. Attendees can enjoy demonstrations and educational talks from local herbalists, along with guided plant walks. The past three festivals were remarkable, so be sure not to miss this year’s event!

Nomadic Botanicals in Columbia Heights, MN, offers handcrafted herbal remedies and artisanal goods, thoughtfully created with organic ingredients. You’ll gain skills in identifying these plants and learn how to utilize them as food or medicine.
Kara Swenson is an herbalist and integrative nutritionist committed to developing personalized herbal programs for her clients. She assesses their health histories and employs non-invasive techniques like pulse testing, muscle testing, and tongue diagnosis to identify effective remedies, which she crafts herself using local plants.

Tea Tasting. The magical thing about herbs is that they are everywhere we go. Many commonplace plants not only taste great but support your health, too. Let your taste buds remind you how sweet home can be. Sample a variety of tea blends featuring ingredients foraged from the Minnesota landscape, particularly the boreal forest, while learning the story behind each blend and how it connects to the environment.

Top Ten Bitter Tips. Life is better with bitters! Discover the extensive benefits of bitter-tasting herbs and their effects on the digestive system. We will also examine how bitters compare to GLP-1 medications in managing glucose levels. Informative handouts will be provided.
Katherine Krumwiede is a licensed acupuncturist, practitioner of Oriental Medicine, and herbalist. She combines acupuncture and botanical medicine to alleviate pain, improve digestion, calm emotions, smooth life transitions, diffuse stress, and promote restful sleep.

Everyday Kitchen Herbal Allies. Uncover the hidden wellness power of everyday herbs found in your kitchen and spice rack. In this engaging presentation, you’ll learn how familiar herbs and spices can support your health, and you’ll leave with ideas and recipes to try at home.
Shannon Maset is a holistic wellness coach and herbalist who enjoys sharing with her clients healing practices utilizing food, food supplements, nutrients and herbalism to support overall well-being.

They also have culinary uses, can be used for skincare and hair care, and are beneficial in the garden as a natural pest repellent and pollinator attractant. Learn about the hardier varieties of lavender and discover how to successfully grow it here in Minnesota.
Marie Schuhwerck operates Minnesota’s only functioning lavender farm, a venture she developed from the ground up in a region where lavender doesn’t naturally grow. Throughout her journey, she gained valuable knowledge and has become a sought-after expert in lavender cultivation, turning her farm into an emerging destination for lavender enthusiasts.
